Hold onto your ten-gallon hats, folks! Miranda Lambert, country music’s reigning queen of sass, has a new songwriting partner…and it ain’t some Nashville hotshot. Nope, it’s her hubby, Brendan McLoughlin, the retired NYPD officer who traded city sirens for steel guitars.
"Dammit, Randy!" Wait, Brendan Wrote That?
Yep, you heard right. Brendan, the hunky former cop who swept Miranda off her feet, is officially a credited songwriter on her new album, “Postcards From Texas.
” And the song? Oh, just a little ditty called “Dammit Randy.”
Now, we don’t know Randy personally, but somethin’ tells us this ain’t no love song. Knowing Miranda, it’s probably a fiery, boot-scootin’ anthem about a no-good lover who done somebody wrong (most likely while wearin’ boot-cut jeans and a bad attitude).
From Cop Confessions to Country Crooning?
So, how did this unlikely songwriting duo come to be?
"It all started in 2020,” Miranda revealed on the TODAY show, a mischievous glint in her eye.
“We were stuck at home, you know, pandemic and all… and Brendan started messin’ around writin’ songs. Turns out, the man’s got talent!”
Apparently, those late-night jam sessions weren’t just for fun. When it came time to write for “Postcards from Texas,” Miranda found herself drawin’ inspiration from, well, life with Brendan.
