Jennifer Lawrence may be one of the most famous actresses on the planet, but when it comes to her personal life, she prefers to keep things private. However, in a rare interview with People magazine, the 27-year-old opened up about her relationship with director Darren Aronofsky, calling him "unlike anyone else."
The couple first met on the set of their upcoming film, "Mother!," and while their relationship was initially kept under wraps, they made their red carpet debut at the Venice Film Festival in September 2017.
"He's a visionary," Lawrence said of Aronofsky. "I had heard about how intense he was, and I was worried about how that would be when we actually met, but he's a gentle soul. He's so giving and open, and he's just an incredible person."
Lawrence, who won an Academy Award for her role in 2012's "Silver Linings Playbook," said that working with Aronofsky on "Mother!" was a "life-changing experience." The psychological horror film, which also stars Javier Bardem, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Ed Harris, has received mixed reviews but Lawrence's performance has been universally praised.
"Darren is the most daring and creative filmmaker I've ever worked with," she gushed. "He pushes boundaries and challenges me as an actress. I've never felt so inspired and alive on a set before."
Still, the couple's 22-year age difference and the fact that they are both in the public eye has led to some scrutiny. But Lawrence insists that the criticism doesn't bother her.
"I don't pay any attention to it," she said.
