Jennifer Garner might have intended to be the "cool mom" at her son Samuel’s 7th birthday party, but things didn’t exactly go as planned. The event was How to Train Your Dragon-themed, and in true Garner fashion, she decided to go all out for her son’s special day. Dressed head-to-toe as the fierce Viking warrior Astrid, she donned fur boots, leather armor, and even blue face paint, perfectly channeling the character voiced by America Ferrera in the beloved animated movie.
However, her enthusiastic gesture didn’t land quite as expected. Instead of being the hero of the party, Garner was met with her son's very first eye roll. Samuel, like many kids hitting the seven-year mark, seemed to have crossed the threshold from thinking his mom’s antics were fun to finding them totally embarrassing.
Garner shared the funny moment on Instagram, jokingly captioning her post, "Well, guess what. It turns out seven is the age my kid stops thinking it’s cool when I dress up for the party.” She even tagged America Ferrera in the post, who was delighted by Garner’s tribute to her character, commenting with her approval of the costume. Despite Samuel’s reaction, the internet loved the heartwarming (and slightly awkward) moment, showing that even Hollywood stars aren’t immune to the universal experience of embarrassing their children.
