Fans of The Young and the Restless (Y&R) were in for a shock when the beloved role of Noah Newman was recast with Days of Our Lives alum Lucas Adams. The change left many wondering: what does this mean for the future of the character, and how does Rory Gibson, the actor who originally played Noah, feel about it? In an exclusive conversation, Gibson opens up about his reaction to the recasting, the unresolved storylines that still haunt him, and his journey to General Hospital.
When the news broke that Noah Newman would be recast, Rory Gibson had an unexpected reaction—he was actually "late" to find out about it. In a casual conversation with his Y&R co-star Josh Morrow, Gibson learned that Days of Our Lives veteran Lucas Adams would be stepping into his shoes.
“I was a little bit late to the game on that,” Gibson admits. "But when I heard, I was excited."
However, instead of any feelings of rivalry or disappointment, Gibson had nothing but praise for Adams. "Josh had nothing but awesome things to say about the new guy coming in," he recalled. “From what I’ve heard, he’s an incredible actor and just a super nice dude."
For Gibson, the recasting felt like a natural step forward for Noah's storyline.
