In the quiet town of Ridgeway, Virginia, a heart-wrenching discovery was made deep within the woods: eleven German Shepherd puppies, abandoned and left to fend for themselves. Malnourished and on the brink of death, their plight was a stark reminder of the cruelty that animals can face at human hands.

Responding to calls about stray puppies near a road, Henry County Animal Control officers found these innocent souls, their ribs protruding and eyes pleading for help. Five of the puppies were in such dire condition that they required immediate hospitalization.

We received a call from locals seeing a small lost puppy who was alone after a massive rainstorm stuck the area. It was seen with his mom & siblings right before it hit, but due to the lightning strikes and extreme weather condition, they ran off as a group and he was left behind. He had since stayed there, waiting for them to return, but unfortunately, they were long gone. When we arrived, he was very shy and scared, full of dirt and hiding on a hole in the ground.

We received an emergency call about a group of puppies thrown away in a dumpster. As soon as we confirmed the cases we rushed to the site and unfortunately the situation was not easy.
