Hold onto your couture gowns, darlings, because the Cannes Film Festival is serving up more drama than a Pedro Almodóvar film, and this time, the stars aren’t the only ones making headlines. It seems one overzealous security guard has taken it upon herself to play red carpet police, leaving a trail of frustrated celebrities and bewildered onlookers in her wake.
Dominican beauty queen turned actress Massiel Taveras arrived at the premiere of "Asteroid City" ready for her close-up, her stunning Giannina Azar gown (featuring a dramatic 15-foot train and a portrait of Jesus, no less) practically begging for a photo op on the iconic Cannes stairs.
But before Massiel could strike a pose, disaster (or rather, an overzealous usher) struck.
"She was literally blocking the entire train with her arm!" exclaimed one horrified fashion enthusiast on Twitter. "That dress deserved its moment!"
Video footage shows a visibly frustrated Massiel pleading with the security team to give her some space. "Back off!" she can be heard saying, her voice laced with a mix of exasperation and "Don't-mess-with-me" energy.
