Country music superstar Miranda Lambert is known for her heartfelt lyrics and her take-no-prisoners attitude. But when it comes to her husband, former NYPD officer Brendan McLoughlin, she's all about keeping it real, even if it means embracing a decidedly "old school" approach to romance.
In a recent appearance on the Dumb Blonde podcast, Lambert gave fans a rare glimpse into the early days of her relationship with McLoughlin, revealing a meet-cute story worthy of a country song.
The couple's paths first crossed in 2018 when Lambert was performing on Good Morning America with her band, the Pistol Annies. McLoughlin, working security for the show, caught Lambert's eye, and the rest, as they say, is history.

"I was like, ‘Do you wanna be pen pals?’" Lambert recalled with a laugh. "He was like, ‘Write letters with pens?’ I was like, ‘Yeah.'"
McLoughlin, eight years her junior, was initially taken aback by the suggestion. "He’s eight years younger, so that was really mind blowing to him," Lambert admitted.
