Country music powerhouse Miranda Lambert is known for pouring her heart into her music, but even for her, some songs take time. Her latest album, Postcards from Texas, features the deeply personal track "Run" – a song so raw and vulnerable that it took Lambert nearly ten years to share it with the world.
"I wasn't ever ready to perform it until now," Lambert confessed during a recent interview on Today’s Country Radio with Kelliegh Bannen. It's a sentiment that resonates with anyone who's ever poured their soul into a song only to find it too close to the bone to share.
"That’s what songs are for," Lambert continued, her voice softening with understanding. "And you may not be ready at that one time to sing about something really raw or sing about alimony.
You might be going through a divorce or whatever.” The honesty in her words painted a vivid picture of the complex emotions artists navigate when transforming personal experiences into art.
"At the time it might not be funny or at the time it might feel too raw," she mused, "but then it can come back around.” And come back around it did, a testament to the healing power of time and the transformative nature of songwriting.
