Step 1: Empty and Disassemble – The Prep Work Begins
Before you unleash the cleaning fury, make sure your machine is completely empty, no rogue socks allowed! Next, we’re going to remove the detachable parts, usually located on the agitator and around the bleach and fabric softener dispensers.
You'll typically find the fabric softener dispenser in the center of the agitator. Pop it off to reveal hidden grime. Also, gently pull out the liquid bleach dispenser, usually located on the side of the machine. Place these parts in a sink with a cup of white vinegar and a bit of dish soap. Let them soak while we get to work on the main drum.
