The story began when the family visited their local shelter in Texas, where they heard about the dog named Cookie who was scheduled to be euthanized due to her tumor.
As they were leaving, the little girl begged her father to let her hold Cookie. Hoping to grant her wish, the family sought permission from the shelter staff.
The shelter staff members were touched by the girl's request and granted her the opportunity to hold Cookie. The young girl was overjoyed and immediately sat down next to the furry friend. She embraced Cookie and cradled her head, providing her with comfort and love.
