It's not every day that a soap opera star becomes a champion for a global cause, but Kennedy Garcia, known for her role as Felicity on "Days of Our Lives," has proven that anything is possible. Garcia, an advocate for the Down Syndrome community, has been nominated as a Champion of the Year by the Best Buddies International organization!
Best Buddies International is a non-profit dedicated to creating opportunities for friendships, jobs, and leadership development for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Champion of the Year program recognizes individuals who are committed to promoting inclusivity in their communities through fundraising and awareness campaigns. Garcia, a long-time supporter of Best Buddies, is one of eleven candidates in Los Angeles vying for the prestigious title.
To amplify her efforts and reach a wider audience, Garcia enlisted the help of her DAYS co-star, Christopher Sean, who plays the role of Paul Narita on the show. "Christopher has agreed to be my mission partner as we take on the next nine weeks of fundraising and helping this amazing organization," Garcia shared on Instagram. "And who better to help me than Paul Narita himself (and you know, Ultraman!)," she added, referencing Sean's starring role in the Netflix film "Ultraman: Rising".
