Country music queen Carrie Underwood is known for her powerhouse vocals, her undeniable talent, and her unwavering dedication to delivering a stellar performance. But she's not afraid to speak her mind, and recently, she took aim at singers who rely on backing tracks and can't replicate their recorded vocals live.
A Vocal Powerhouse Speaks Out
Underwood, whose stunning vocal abilities have earned her eight Grammys, including six for vocal performance, recently shared her thoughts on singers who struggle to hit the notes live. In an interview with Rolling Stone, she revealed her frustration with artists who can't deliver the same level of quality in a live setting.
"Why'd You Record Them If You Can't Sing Them?"
"Growing up and going to concerts or seeing my favorite artists on TV, if they didn't sound like they were supposed to sound, it was always so deflating.
I'd lose respect for them," Underwood explained. "Or when I'd go to a concert and hear them drop keys, I was like, 'You can't hit the notes! Why'd you record them if you can't sing them?' That stuff is important to me."
A Passion for Vocal Excellence
Underwood's passion for vocal excellence is evident in her own performances.
