Season One
In 1958, Miriam 'Midge' Maisel is living her dream. She lives in New York City with her husband, Joel, and their two children, Ethan and Esther. Joel, a businessman, moonlights as a comedian at a local club. After Joel plagiarizes a comedy set and bombs on stage, he leaves Midge for his secretary.
Devastated, Midge gets drunk and winds up on the same stage, discovering her knack for stand-up comedy. Arrested for exposing herself during the act, she meets Lenny Bruce, a famous comedian, in jail, who bails her out. Midge starts working with a manager named Susie Myerson.
