Production has officially started in Scotland for the prequel series to Starz's Outlander, titled Outlander: Blood of My Blood. The show will delve into the lives of the parents of the main series' lead characters, focusing on both Jamie's (played by Sam Heughan) and Claire's (played by Caitriona Balfe) parents. Harriet Slater and Jamie Roy will portray Ellen MacKenzie and Brian Fraser, while Hermione Corfield and Jeremy Irvine will play Julia Moriston and Henry Beauchamp.
Showrunner Matthew B. Roberts expressed excitement about exploring the origins of these relationships and their timeless love stories. More cast additions have been announced, including younger versions of characters seen in Outlander. The second half of the seventh season of Outlander is scheduled to air later this year, leading up to the show's final eighth installment. The prequel series, Blood of My Blood, was developed by Starz and has been given a formal series order.
Slater and Roy are represented by various talent agencies in the UK and the US.
