The film rights to Gil Adamson's historical novel "The Outlander" have been acquired by Trudie Styler's Xingu Films, Sandra Cunningham's Strada Films, and Robin Cass and Anna Stratton's Triptych Media. Released by House of Anansi Press last year, "The Outlander" follows the story of a 19-year-old woman trying to survive in the Canadian wilderness while being chased by her late husband's vengeful brothers.
Xingu Films recently released "Moon," a sci-fi film starring Sam Rockwell, through Sony Pictures Classics. Strada Films, based in Toronto, produced "Fugitive Pieces" with Serendipity Point Films. Triptych Media's previous works include "Emotional Arithmetic," featuring Susan Sarandon and Gabriel Byrne.
