While the behind-the-scenes drama of Yellowstone continues to make headlines – from Kevin Costner's rumored exit to various production delays – tragedy struck the cast in a far more personal way. Cole Hauser, who plays the ruggedly charming Rip Wheeler on the hit neo-western series, recently announced the passing of his mother, Cass Warner, at the age of 76.
Taking to Instagram to share the news with his fans, Hauser posted a touching tribute, writing, “It is with a heavy heart that my mother, Cass Sperling Warner, passed away… Her kindness, love, humor, and amazing spirit will be missed by not only my family but the world. You have touched so many.”
He ended the heartfelt post with a poignant, "We will meet again. Bye for now ❤️”
A Legacy Etched in Hollywood History
Cass Warner was more than just Cole Hauser’s mom; she was Hollywood royalty.
Born into the industry, she was the daughter of Betty Warner – whose father co-founded Warner Bros. – and Milton Sperling, an Oscar-nominated screenwriter and producer.
Cass dedicated her life to preserving and celebrating her family’s legacy. Her book, The Brothers Warner, and her work on the documentary series You Must Remember This: The Warner Brothers Story offered an intimate and insightful look at the legendary studio's history.
