Carrie Underwood, the queen of country music, is known for her powerhouse vocals and her undeniable charm. She's a constant force in the industry, with a string of hit albums and sold-out tours under her belt. But one thing she's not known for is saying "no" to collaborations... except this time.
The Big Request:
Back in February, Florida Georgia Line, the country duo known for hits like "Cruise" and "Dirt Road Anthem," made a public plea to the country music queen.
Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley took to social media, gushing about their admiration for Underwood and their desire to collaborate with her. They even shared a snippet of a song they'd written, hoping it would convince her to join them.
"We'd really love for Carrie Underwood to hear this song," Hubbard said. "We think it would be a massive collaboration. We'd love to send it to you. We don't have your email or your phone number, so we're gonna just play a little.
"
The Shocking Rejection:
But it seems Underwood wasn't as enthusiastic about the collaboration as Florida Georgia Line. During a recent appearance on CMT Hot 20 Countdown, the duo revealed that Underwood had politely declined their request.
"No, we got turned down on that one," Hubbard said, staying good-natured about the situation.
