An Unexpected Journey Begins
Morgan Wallen’s rise to fame began with a single audition on The Voice in 2014. With his distinctive raspy voice and undeniable charisma, Wallen quickly became a fan favorite, even though he didn't win the competition. His rendition of Howie Day's "Collide" during the blind auditions caught the attention of coaches Shakira and Usher, and it was clear that Wallen was a star in the making. However, the path from The Voice to country music stardom was anything but smooth, and Wallen would soon find himself facing challenges that could have ended his career before it truly began.
From The Voice to the Top of the Charts
After his stint on The Voice, Wallen moved to Nashville, the heart of country music. Here, he quickly signed with Panacea Records and released his debut EP, Stand Alone, in 2015. The single "The Way I Talk" started to garner attention, but it was his collaboration with Florida Georgia Line on the hit song "Up Down" that truly launched him into the spotlight.
His debut album, If I Know Me, released in 2018, featured the massive hit "Whiskey Glasses," which topped both the Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay charts. Wallen’s unique blend of country, rock, and hip-hop influences made him a standout artist in the genre, and it seemed like he was on an unstoppable trajectory.
The Fall from Grace
Despite his rising star, Wallen’s career took a sharp turn in early 2021 when a video surfaced of him using a racial slur during a night out with friends.
