When premiered on Amazon Prime Video in 2017, no one quite knew it would explode into the sensation it became. It quickly captivated audiences with the story of Miriam "Midge" Maisel, a 1950s New York housewife turned stand-up comedian, played brilliantly by Rachel Brosnahan. Midge’s journey from a heartbroken divorcee to a confident, boundary-pushing comic, backed by her tough-as-nails manager Susie Myerson (Alex Borstein), was both inspirational and wildly entertaining.
But, as all good things do, Midge’s story had to come to an end.
By the time the show wrapped up with its fifth and final season in 2023, fans were left both satisfied and yearning for more. It’s no wonder that with the 2023 Emmy Awards spotlighting the series once again, the buzz around a potential season 6 grew louder. But despite the hopes and dreams of
enthusiasts everywhere, season 6 is not happening.
The news of the series ending wasn’t exactly a surprise; it was announced back in February 2022 that season 5 would be the final chapter for Midge and her crew. “Season 5, and step on it. 🚕” read the show’s Instagram post, confirming the bittersweet end. For fans, this announcement was like a punch to the gut, but it also set the stage for a farewell season that didn’t hold back on delivering all the feels.
