Actors Kate Phillips, Amber Anderson, and Rosie Day have come together to launch a new production company in London called Just John Films.
Just John Films will focus on optioning, developing, and producing projects independently as well as in collaboration with other partners. The company's artistic vision aims to highlight diverse and captivating stories in a creative and welcoming environment to ensure quality throughout the filmmaking process.
The company has already announced its initial slate, including an adaptation of Annie Garthwaite's novel "Cecily" and a project based on Sylvia Plath in partnership with Silver Salt Films. More projects are in the works.
Kate Phillips, known for her roles in "Hijack" and "Peaky Blinders," is currently appearing in the final installment of Hilary Mantel's "Wolf Hall" trilogy.
Amber Anderson, recognized for her work in "Peaky Blinders" and "Black Mirror," will soon be seen in Jaclyn Bethany's upcoming film.
Rosie Day, an award-winning actor and filmmaker, will be transferring her one-woman show to the West End this spring and is set to make her directorial debut in the near future.
Phillips expressed her excitement about the new venture, while Anderson and Day shared their enthusiasm for collaborating with talented individuals and creating meaningful work in a nurturing environment.
Phillips is represented by Independent Talent, Anderson by Curtis Brown and Rogue Management, and Day by The Artist Partnership and Neon Kite.
