Country music star Morgan Wallen made a surprising announcement on social media this week. While on a duck-hunting trip, Wallen revealed that he would be releasing a new version of one of his early songs titled "Spin You Around (1/24)". This came as a surprise to fans, as there were rumors circulating about a planned 10th-anniversary celebration of a 2014 album that Wallen had never wanted to release.
In his social media post, Wallen explained that back in 2014, he had traveled to Florida to explore his talent in making original music and songwriting.
This led to him signing a recording deal with a local investor and an artist management deal, both of which he now deeply regrets. Unfortunately, at the time, Wallen had signed these deals without any legal representation. He admitted that many of the 13 songs they made during that period were not up to his standards, as he was still learning how to write and figure things out. Out of those songs, five were chosen for the Stand Alone EP, including the fan-favorite "Spin You Around".
In his statement, Wallen expressed his frustration, calling the situation "gross and greedy" and an example of how the dark side of the music business can drain the artistic soul. Determined to take control of his music, he re-recorded "Spin You Around (1/24)" in Nashville with Joey Moi and Bryan Sutton from Big Loud. He even created the artwork for the release while out in the woods during his duck-hunting trip.
