Prepare yourselves, Yellowstone viewers, because Lainey Wilson has just revealed some surprising details about the second part of season 5 that may not make fans too happy. The talented country singer recently attended the 2023 CMT Music Awards, where she was honored with the Female Video of the Year and Collaborative Video of the Year awards. Ahead of the ceremony, Lainey and her co-star Ian Bohen, who both appear on Yellowstone, sat down with Entertainment Tonight to discuss what's happening with the filming of the remaining episodes of season 5. While Ian mentioned that they will start shooting "this summer," Lainey had a different perspective on the production timeline.
"I haven't received a call yet," she informed the outlet regarding the status of the drama series. "But as far as I know, they don't even have a confirmed filming date."
Even though there is no set date for the cast and crew to return to work on Yellowstone, Lainey remains optimistic about the show's future beyond season 5. In fact, she hinted that fans haven't seen the last of her character, Abby.
"I have a really good feeling that if they wrap things up the way they're planning, I will be back," Lainey shared with ET. "We'll see, they haven't said goodbye to me yet."
While details about Yellowstone season 5 part 2 are being kept under wraps, actor Cole Hauser, who portrays Rip Wheeler, has echoed similar sentiments about the filming schedule. According to him, a tentative date has already been set.
"You know, we'll see what's next," Cole said during a recent Q&A session at the Houston Livestock and Rodeo. "But right now, I'm focused on giving you guys 5B, which you've been eagerly waiting for! We're hoping to get back to work in May, so hopefully, that plan will come to fruition."
Fans can now eagerly anticipate the continuation of Yellowstone season 5, and with Lainey's hopeful outlook, it seems likely that Abby will be back with her aspiring country artist storyline.
