In a recent interview, Lainey Wilson discusses her experience working with Kelly Reilly on the upcoming Season 5 of Yellowstone. Reilly portrays the tough and ruthless character Beth Dutton on the show, which happened to be Wilson's favorite before they even met. However, Wilson reveals that Reilly is completely different from her on-screen persona in real life.
Wilson describes Reilly as one of the nicest people she has ever met, which came as a surprise considering the tough nature of her character.
Wilson shares that Reilly expressed a desire for Wilson to be her first friend on the show, considering the character of Beth Dutton doesn't usually endear herself to others.
On June 10, Yellowstone announced that Wilson would join the cast for Season 5. Series co-creator and writer Taylor Sheridan created a role specifically for Wilson after her music appeared on the show multiple times. Wilson will play the role of a musician named Abby.
In addition to Wilson, Season 5 of Yellowstone will include several new cast members. Kai Caster will join as a young cowboy named Rowdy, while Lilli Kay will play Clara Brewer, a new assistant to the Dutton family. Dawn Olivieri, who previously appeared on Yellowstone prequel 1883, will portray Sarah Atwood, a confident corporate shark and a new arrival to Montana.
The main cast of Yellowstone, including Kevin Costner, Luke Grimes, Wes Bentley, Cole Hauser, and more, will all return for Season 5.
The season commenced filming in mid-May and is set to premiere on November 13. It will consist of 14 episodes, split into two sections of seven episodes each.
Fans can currently stream Seasons 1-4 of Yellowstone on Peacock. For comprehensive coverage of all things Yellowstone, fans can listen to the Dutton Rules podcast on Apple Podcasts and Spotify.
