In a heartbreaking turn of events, Claire and Aaron Groot, a married couple from the Gold Coast, are facing an unimaginable challenge as both have been diagnosed with stage four cancer. The couple, who have been together for a decade, are grappling not only with their health battles but also with the pressing need to provide for their two young daughters, aged seven and five.
Claire Groot's struggle with cancer began in 2019 when she was diagnosed with triple-positive breast cancer.
Since then, she has undergone numerous treatments, including surgeries, radiation, and chemotherapy, in a relentless fight against the disease. Despite her tenacity and enduring spirit, the cancer has advanced to stage four, marking a new and daunting phase in her battle.

Initially presenting as a growth on his face that he had repeatedly injured while shaving, the cancer diagnosis was delayed until July 2023, when Aaron insisted on a biopsy. The results revealed an aggressive form of cancer that had already begun to spread. Despite invasive surgery in Sydney, where muscle was taken from his leg to replace affected tissue in his neck, and subsequent radiotherapy, the cancer recurred.
