Dolly Parton, the Backwoods Barbie herself, has a knack for spotting kindred spirits. So when she sings the praises of a fellow artist, you know it ain't just sweet tea and Southern hospitality talkin’. And lately, the object of Dolly’s affection is none other than country music rebel Miranda Lambert.
"I love her," Parton gushed to Taste of Country Nights, her voice dripping with genuine admiration.
"She's so quality. She's so deep. She's so talented."
Now, hearing Dolly Parton compliment another artist is hardly news. The woman’s got more love to give than a rhinestone factory has sparkles. But there’s a different tune to her praise for Lambert, a knowing glint in her eye. These two ain't just passing ships in the country music night. They're cut from the same damn rhinestoned cloth.
The pair recently teamed up for a duet of Parton's 1967 hit "Dumb Blonde" on the Dumplin' soundtrack, a match made in honky-tonk heaven. But it was more than just harmonizing vocals that sparked a connection.
"We really connected," Parton revealed. "We remind each other of each other in a way...that rawness and that country soul feeling. We're just 'feeling' kind of people. I just somehow relate to her.
