In a recent episode of Apple Radio’s “Essentials Radio,” Lambert offered a glimpse into a poignant chapter from her past, sharing the story behind the deeply personal song she wrote for Shelton during a time of unimaginable grief: the loss of his brother.
The song, “Over You,” featured on Lambert's critically acclaimed 2011 album “Four the Record,” is a heart-wrenching ballad about loss, healing, and the enduring power of love.
But what many fans don’t realize is that the song’s inspiration stemmed from Shelton’s own experience of losing his older brother, Richie, in a car accident years earlier.
"Blake was initially hesitant about the idea of writing about something so personal," Lambert confessed during the radio show. "He kept saying, 'My dad always told me you don't get over it, you just get used to it.
