Miranda Lambert, country music's reigning rebel, is ready to shake things up. As she prepares to launch her all-female Roadside Bars and Pink Guitars tour, Lambert is also putting the finishing touches on a new album, hinting at a fresh sound and a continued commitment to lifting up fellow female artists.
Speaking backstage at Chicago’s Country LakeShake Festival, where she headlined a history-making all-women lineup, Lambert buzzed with excitement about the upcoming album. Having recently wrapped recording with producer Jay Joyce (known for his work with Eric Church), she teased a departure from her previous work.
"I'm ready for a single to come out, bad,” she confessed, a mischievous glint in her eye. Fans who caught her surprise performance of the new track “Locomotive” at CMA Fest got a taste of what’s to come: a raw, energetic sound that leans into a “rock vibe.
"
This collaboration with Joyce marks a change for Lambert, who has primarily worked with producer Frank Liddell throughout her career. But her willingness to experiment and evolve is precisely why she remains at the top of her game.
