Miranda Lambert is known for her chart-topping hits and fiery personality, but even country music royalty likes to shake things up now and then. Her latest single, "Dammit Randy," is already a fan favorite, and it turns out the song has a secret ingredient: a dash of Brendan McLoughlin! That's right, Miranda's husband, the former NYPD officer turned devoted house-husband, co-wrote the catchy tune, and he's not letting anyone forget it.
Miranda spilled all the tea in a recent Instagram video, revealing that "Dammit Randy" was born during a laid-back songwriting session at her Austin home with longtime collaborator Jon Randall. As they sipped tequila and prepped for her upcoming album recording, the conversation turned to finding a supportive team in the music industry.
"Me and Jon have a saying…'dammit Randy,'" Miranda explained with a mischievous grin. "We were talking about the journey from going from a place where you didn’t feel super supported to where you did. So, ‘Dammit Randy’ was born."
And who, you might ask, is the mysterious Randy? Turns out, it's actually Jon Randall himself!
