Frieza's return in Dragon Ball Super has caused quite a stir amongst fans. His new form, known as Black Frieza, has showcased an impressive power level that rivals that of a God of Destruction. The franchise is teasing that Frieza's actual strength may already be on par with a powerful being like Beerus.
In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), Dragon Ball news reporter @DbsHype shared a description of Black Frieza from this month's V Jump magazine, where Dragon Ball Super is serialized.
The post suggests that Black Frieza's power level is approaching that of a God of Destruction. These beings have the ability to destroy lifeforms and planets effortlessly. If Frieza possesses even a fraction of their power, it explains why he was able to overpower Goku and Vegeta in their previous encounter.
Black Frieza made his first appearance in Chapter #87 of Dragon Ball Super, surprising everyone by obliterating Gas with a single blow.
Up until that point, Gas was considered the strongest warrior in the universe. Frieza had been absent from the story for some time, during which he took a step Goku and Vegeta had never done before—he actually trained. The result of his efforts was the Black Frieza form.
Goku and Vegeta were completely astonished by Frieza's newfound abilities, as they themselves were unable to defeat Gas. Frieza revealed that he had learned from his enemies and trained for the equivalent of ten years in a Room of Spirit and Time.
