Miranda Lambert, the country music superstar known for her powerful voice and even bigger heart, is mourning the loss of two beloved members of her family – her rescue dogs, Delta Dawn and Louise.
In a pair of emotional Instagram posts, Lambert shared the devastating news that both Delta Dawn, a Chihuahua-pug mix, and Louise, a Great Pyrenees, had crossed the rainbow bridge within weeks of each other.
“In the last 6 weeks, two of the best and most loyal friends I have ever had have left this earth,” Lambert wrote, her words resonating with anyone who’s ever loved and lost a furry companion. “I’m so heartbroken to have lost them."
Alongside the heartfelt caption, Lambert shared photos of herself with Delta Dawn and Louise, capturing the special bond they shared.
The photos serve as a poignant reminder of the unconditional love and joy that rescue animals bring into our lives.
Lambert first met Delta Dawn in 2009 when the tiny pup wandered up to her at a Sonic Drive-In in Oklahoma. "She was homeless and hungry but still full of personality," Lambert recalled.
Touched by Delta Dawn's resilience, Lambert took her home, and the two were inseparable for nearly 16 years.
