Leave it to country music legend George Strait to settle a family feud with a healthy dose of humor and a whole lot of temporary ink.
Miranda Lambert, who back in 2013 was just a rising star sharing the stage with the King himself, recently shared a hilarious story about how Strait played peacemaker between her and her father, Rick, during a tour.
A Tattoo, a Two-Week Silence, and a Bus Full of Tension
Picture this: a 22-year-old Lambert, fresh off the high of getting her very first tattoo, riding on a tour bus with her father… who is decidedly not thrilled about his daughter's new ink.
"He was really, really mad," Lambert recalled with a laugh during a 2013 interview.
How mad, you ask? Rick, it turns out, was so displeased with Miranda’s “horrid, hideous” tattoo (her words, not ours!) that he refused to speak to her for two whole weeks – a near-impossible feat considering they were sharing a tour bus with country music royalty.
The King Hears a Whisper (and Takes Matters into His Own Hands)
Word of the Lambert family feud eventually made its way to the one and only George Strait. And Strait, being the kind-hearted soul and devoted father that he is, decided to intervene.
But this wasn’t your average fatherly advice session. This was a George Strait-level intervention, which, as Lambert recounted, involved 75 stick-on tattoos and a whole lot of laughter.
