Actress Jennifer Aniston has fired back at JD Vance, the Republican vice presidential nominee, over controversial remarks he made regarding lawmakers he referred to as "childless cat ladies." Aniston took to her Instagram Stories to address Vance's comments, expressing disbelief that such statements could come from a potential Vice President of the United States.
"I am truly astounded that this rhetoric is coming from someone vying for VP," Aniston wrote on Wednesday.
"All I can say is… Mr. Vance, I sincerely hope that your daughter will have the privilege of experiencing motherhood one day. I hope she won't have to resort to IVF as a last resort, because you seem intent on restricting that option for her as well."
Aniston's response was prompted by a post highlighting Vance's past appearance on "Tucker Carlson Tonight" in 2021, where he criticized certain Democrats for not having children and suggested they lacked a personal stake in governing the country.
In his interview, Vance stated, "We've effectively handed our country over to people who don't have a direct stake in it," singling out figures like Kamala Harris, Pete Buttigieg, and AOC. He criticized what he perceived as their influence over Democratic policies, particularly on issues like abortion and IVF.
Vance, currently Ohio's junior senator and Trump's running mate for the 2024 presidential election, has faced scrutiny for his views on reproductive rights.
